NGPC Rd 8, 29 Palms, CA - Hilltoppers MC

The Hilltoppers MC Hosted the 8th round of the NGPC near 29 Palms, California. The track there at the rodeo grounds consisted of a high-speed desert with sweeping berms and a newly developed MX track. The lap times were about 11 minutes for the lead bikes. There was a great crowd, despite the rescheduling that landed on top of Thanksgiving weekend. The weather was awesome, cool mornings and highs around 65F.

In Sunday's 1.5 hour race, Preston jumped out to a top-ten start and quickly moved up to 6th on the first lap. Before the halfway point and refueling pit stop he had moved into 5th overall. The very next lap he passed his way into 4th position, where he would finish the event in 4th, an impressive season's best in his Pro class rookie year.

Also of note Johnny Campbell had a great weekend on the gate landing podium finishes in 30+ and 40+.
