JCR/Honda Charges to a Podium Finish at the Legendary Mint 400
Preston Campbell and Nolan Cate combined for a hard-fought second-place finish at the iconic Mint 400, completing 360 miles of Southern Nevada desert in 7 hours, 51 minutes.
The Mint 400 stands as one of the most iconic Off-Road racing events in America, bringing together decades of racing heritage, elite competition, and an unmatched fan experience in the heart of Las Vegas. Celebrating over 50 years of history, the event features a spectacular parade of off-road race vehicles down the famous Las Vegas Strip, a massive festival on Fremont Street, and nearly 400 miles of challenging Southern Nevada desert terrain.
This year's event attracted an incredible turnout, with 550 total entries and more than 1,300 competitors participating across all classes. The continued partnership between Best in the Desert and Unlimited Offroad Racing has further elevated the sport through the American Off-Road Racing Championship, helping strengthen the future of desert racing in the United States.
The Motorcycle and ATV divisions showcased impressive participation, accounting for 160 of the event's entries. The pit areas were filled with teams, riders, and fans, highlighting the continued growth and excitement surrounding Off-Road motorcycle racing.
Race weekend began Friday with Pro Moto qualifying alongside the Unlimited Truck class. JCR/Honda rider Preston Campbell delivered a strong performance, posting the third fastest qualifying time and securing an excellent starting position for both himself and teammate Nolan Cate aboard the #N3 Honda CRF450X.
Saturday morning, the green flag dropped at 7 a.m. as riders tackled a demanding 60-mile loop through rugged desert terrain. Competitors completed six laps for a total of 360 miles of high-speed racing.
Campbell took the opening stint for the JCR/Honda team, battling at the front of the pack during the opening lap. The team executed smooth rider changes throughout the race, with Campbell and Cate maintaining a competitive pace across the grueling course. In the closing stages, Campbell pushed hard during the final laps, making key passes to secure an impressive second place overall finish and another podium result for the JCR/Honda team.
The duo crossed the finish line with an outstanding total time of 7 hours, 51 minutes, and 45 seconds, adding another strong performance to Honda's storied Off-Road racing legacy.
