With a top speed of 110 mph, Preston Campbell and Ricky Brabec WIN the 2024 Mint 400!

Mar 12th, 2024

This past weekend, Preston Campbell, the two-time ISDE gold medalist, teamed with Ricky Brabec, the two-time Dakar Rally winner, with the goal of decimating the competition at the 2024 Mint 400 onboard their JCR/Honda-prepared CRF450X.

The Mint 400 has been running for 56 years. It is aptly dubbed "The Great American Off-Road Race," with a massive attendance of over 1000 unique entries and 450 race vehicle entries ranging from Motorcycles, SxS, limited and unlimited four-wheeled vehicles, and Unlimited Trucks. It is the most popular race of its kind in the US.

Saturday's events consisted of the Unlimited vehicles racing simultaneously on separate courses with the Motorcycle competitors, making for a unique format for fans and spectators alike to enjoy two events simultaneously!

The Bike course was a 58-mile loop starting at Primm, NV, looping northward in a counterclockwise direction, covering the surrounding area of Jean Dry Lake, twisty sand washes, and high-speed utility roads. The top racers were to complete the loop with 6 laps with a total mileage of 348 miles.

Preston Campbell started the #P3 JCR CRF450X and jumped out to an early lead. After the first loop, He Handed the bike to Brabec, as the team strategy had the racers changing every lap to stay fresh and "sprint" to maximize their talent. This proved worth it, as the dynamic duo would pull time and leave the competition in the dust by the completion of the 7-hour-plus Off-Road race.

"We put in a lot of work to prepare the bike for this course and ensure it was right for the riders. Special thanks to Mitch, Bones, and the whole Pro Circuit team for their extra effort and commitment to performance. The Preston Campbell and Ricky Brabec team was strong and took the race by storm, finishing with a 15+ minute gap on the competition. I was also happy to deliver a win to our new team sponsor, Cobian Footwear."—Johnny Campbell.

Next up for the JCR/Honda Team: March 23-24 NHHA Murphy, ID
