NGPC Round #8 Viewfinders MC Race Report

Oct 4th, 2023

Viewfinders MC hosted the eighth round of the NGPC series, starting from the Ridgecrest County Fairgrounds in Ridgecrest, California. Nearly 1,800 riders took to the starting grid in multiple classes over the two days of intense GP racing. The course was an 8-mile loop consisting of open desert trails, motocross, Endurocross, and even paved sections, giving the lead racers a 13-plus-minute lap time.

The weekend kicked off with Saturday's AA feature, where JCR/Honda's Ryan Surratt took the win. On Sunday, riders were presented with ideal weather conditions in the mid-70s with a slight breeze. Surratt got off to a top 10 start and quickly moved into the top five by the second lap. As the race neared the halfway point, Surratt had marched his way to fourth; he would challenge for third multiple times and ultimately rode to a fourth-place finish in the 1.5-hour-long competition.

Surratt holds on to 2nd place currently with 1- round to go. The final round will take place at the Crazy Horse Campground in Lake Havasu, AZ, October 14-15.
