Mar 6th, 2023

NGPC Round #4 March 4-5, 2023 Location: Glen Helen Raceway, Devore, CA Hosting Club: Prairie Dogs MC

The Prairie Dogs MC landed a magical weekend at the famed Glen Helen Raceway, with the recent winter storms dumping large amounts of rain and snow in the region just days prior, creating "dream racing conditions." This was also the Prairie Dogs' 50th anniversary as a motorcycle club and promoting racing events. "Congratulations Prairie Dogs!" They treated the racers to a great course layout utilizing both MX tracks and multiple, seldom-used trails at the Glen Helen facility. An astounding 1920 entries and 3490 spectators made for an epic event! The NGPC crew is also rolling out a live stream system to bring more eyeballs to the already popular race series. Full race video below.

JCR/Honda's Ryan Surratt took advantage of the favorable conditions, laying down a holeshot on his Gage Day-tuned CRF450RX. From there, the young Red Rider held the lead by a 5-10 second margin through the halfway point at 50 minutes. After a quick splash of VP Racing Fuel from the JCR/Honda crew, he continued to extend his lead to a dominating win by nearly 50 seconds ahead of the closest competitor giving him his 2nd Pro win of the NGPC season. In the Pro2 division, Preston Campbell continued his comeback year with another top-ten ride in 9th place on his CRF250RX

“Ryan ran a flawless race from start to finish. He is showcasing his versatile talent and just how solid the Honda CRF450RX is for Off-Road racing, especially when prepped by Gage Day and his attention to detail on the bike build. Great job by the Prairie Dogs and NGPC for a great event and for elevating the support with their new Livestream program. This will pay dividends in the future for the entire community. -- Johnny Campbell
