Tarah Gieger WINS the 2019 AMA NGPC CHAMPIONSHIP

Oct 8th, 2019

JCR had an action-packed weekend out in beautiful Ridgecrest, CA this past weekend. The Viewfinders MC put on a very good traditional GP with all the terrain you would expect, high speed paved sections, desert, MX, an old trailer to ride trough, all combined to an 11 plus minute lap time for the fastest racers. The NGPC boasted record entries for the event with over 1600 entries and 2500 spectators through the gate.

JCR team had the pleasure of hosting 2- editors from Dirt Bike Magazine and Dirt Bike Test, within the JCR/Honda tent sporting the new 2020 CRF450RX - outfitted with JCR/Honda Team graphics and a few tweaks to make them GP ready! The editors were treated like factory racers for the day, mechanic and all! It was a great experience for the entire Team, with photos, videos, and especially the front line information about the new bikes and "How-to-Race-a-GP" from 11x himself. We had a busy "Red Rider Trackside Support" helping Honda customers with everything from mousse/tire changes to radiators, to brake discs and clutch maintenance.

The Pro Race: Trevor Stewart got off to an aggressive holeshot, leading the racers down the 100mph paved straight to the desert section. after the first lap, he was maintaining a second position up until he made an error slamming his stomach on the bars. He managed to hold on to a podium position in 3rd place Pro.

Preston Campbell came out swinging on his CRF250RX netting a 3rd place start. He held tough throughout the 1.5 hours finishing just off the podium, 4th in Pro2.

Tarah Gieger was the Honda stand out of the weekend, putting it to the ladies for the 5th time this season. She leads nearly wire to wire on her CRF250RX. More impressively, wrapping up the first AMA National Championship for the JCR/Honda Team and the maiden year for the CRF250RX! Yea! Tarah great job! There was a #1 ceremony soon after the race where she collected the official AMA National #1 plate.
