Preston Campbell Podiums NHHA Pro250 Round 6

Aug 26th, 2019

The 6th round of the AMA National Hare and Hound Championship landed in the small town of Panaca, Nevada. The Silver State Trailblazers MC hosted a great event, including peewee and mini racing Saturday morning with the big bike race shortly after. The club did a good job challenging the 275 entrants to a course laid out over 70 miles of hardcore Eastern Nevada desert. The lack of rain in recent days made it extra fun and silty. JCR/Honda's Preston Campbell was our sole racer over the weekend due to Ricky Brabec and Kendall Norman's preparation for the upcoming Atacama Rally, with the HRC Rally team which kicks off next week in Copiapo, Chile. Preston, rocketed off the line on his CRF250RX, posting a top ten as the mass of racers went through the long, soft, uphill "Bomb Run". The young Honda pilot came through the pits after the first 35-mile loop in a heated battle with the top 3-250cc machines. A quick splash of fuel and fresh 100% Goggles sent him off onto the second and final 39 miles. The final loop was a heater for the young Campbell, pushing his pace, he clipped a rock and went down hard, fighting for the class podium. By the end of just over 2 hours of racing, Preston had regathered himself to secure the final podium position in the Pro250 class, making it his 5th podium in 6 rounds of Hare and Hound racing.
