JCR/Honda's Preston Campbell snags 2nd consecutive podium at NHHA round 2!

Feb 26th, 2019

The second round of the AMA National Hare and Hound series landed in Post, Texas this past weekend. Ridership was up almost 30% for this round in 2019. One of the Oldest motorcycle clubs in the US, The Lubbock Trail Riders did a nice job hosting the event entirely on private land.

The course was laid out with 3 - individual loops, 1st loop - 31 miles, 2nd loop - 30 miles, 3rd loop - 29 miles totaling 90 miles. The terrain in West Texas was challenging for the riders, as this event took over 3.5 hours for the leaders to complete due to the slower speed, winding trails lined by very sharp thorny bushes and lots of dust!

Unlike most H&H races, this round had a hare scramble style start instead of a traditional "bomb run". Kendall Norman took the holeshot and led the first loop to pit 1 with Ricky Brabec holding on to a close second clearing the JCR/Honda Pits. Preston Campbell was charging hard through the pack and had moved from a 40th place start up to 17th OA at the end of lap one. After great starts both Kendall and Ricky hit the deck and remounted to salvage 4th and 7th respectively. Preston Campbell continued to steadily push forward, having a solid ride to grab a podium 3rd in the 250 Pro division on his CRF250RX.
