Sep 19th, 2016

Sept 18th 2016, Round 6 AMA National Hare and Hound series, Located at Spangler Hills OHV, Red Mountain, CA. The host club Jackrabbits MC treated the racers to a unique 4 loop Hare and Hound. Each loop was distinctly different with varying difficulty leading up to the final 12 mile loop of Virgin rock trails. A solid challenge to even the top Competitors. JCR/Honda's Ricky Brabec came out swinging, after having to miss round 5, due to his prior commitment to race the Atacoma Rally in Chile for Team HRC. Missing round 5, Ricky took a hit in the championship points chase but was still able to carry the overall lead coming into round 6. Ricky put his JCR/Honda prepped CRF450X into the lead right from the start. After loop 1 he rode through the pits with a 1 min 50 second lead over second. A fast second loop Ricky extended his lead to a split of 3 Min and 50 seconds. At the end of loop 3 Ricky tested his pit crew, as the high temps and speed took its toll on the rear mousse tube, the crew quickly reacted, pulling a sub 30 sec wheel change, not loosing a position, Ricky and his Pro Circuit, Maxxis, Lucas Oil Honda charged out on the 4th and final loop. Ricky set a fiery pace and amassed a 6 plus minute lead over the second place rider by the time the checkers flew.

"Ricky was impressive today. He rode super comfortable and confident. Even when we had the tire issue, he stayed calm in the pits and managed the race very well. I can't say enough of how proud I am of his character and professionalism today. I want to thank Gnarly Dave, for his pit support and Mitch Hamm for helping me prep for this event. Great Job team! Bones at Pro Circuit has done an awesome job with the handling of our NH&H machine and he also deserves a shout out! Now Ricky has a 17 point lead going to the last round for the National Title. Come on out and cheer him on October 23rd in Lucerne Valley, CA. See you there!" --Johnny Campbell
