Preston Campbell Podiums NHHA Pro250 Round 7!

NHHA Round 7- Rimbenders MC “Dirty 130” Point to Point:

The Rimbenders MC put together a masterful National Hare and Hound this past weekend. A 130-mile point-to-point Hare and Hound desert race is an anomaly in the modern era of NHHA racing. A point-to-point means you start at one location and you finish in a different area, never crossing the same ground twice, whereas regular hare and hounds have a central pit with multiple loops. With a P-to-P that means your support crews are on the move, chasing the rider to hopefully beat them to the next pit location- some 40 miles down course. Sometimes it is a tight time frame to “beat” the rider to the next stop, which keeps the adrenaline at a maximum for the crews. In the “Dirty 130” there were 3 different pit locations. JCR/Honda fielded multi-time National Champion- Kendall Norman whose race prematurely ended with a high-speed get-off right off the start, forcing Kendall to call it a day. The ever consistent, Preston Campbell riding his CRF250RX, had a tough start, landing somewhere in the top 20 and in a cloud of dust. By Pit 1, Campbell made some ground running 4th in the Pro 250 division. He was clearly in the dust and still had a lot to contend with. The next section proved to be a challenge as he was locked in a 4-way battle for position. A quick splash of fuel, fresh goggles and some hydration and he was off and charging. Pit 2 to pit 3 was a long winding section composed of multiple tight sand washes, rocky climbs and high-speed valleys. Preston took advantage of the increased wind, blowing the dust away on occasion. At Pit 3 Preston was up too 3 rd Pro 250. Once again the JCR/Honda crew quickly added VP racing gas through their speedy IMS quick fill, fresh 100% goggles and refreshed him with Ryno Power Hydration to conquer the final 40-mile section. At the checkers, Preston put his CRF250RX on the box for the 6th time in 7 rounds of NHHA racing, completing the race in 3hrs 17mins.
