Trevor Bollinger 2nd place XC1 Tomahawk GNCC

Jun 11th, 2018

Congratulations to Trevor Bollinger on his 2nd place overall finish at the Tomahawk GNCC, held in Odessa, New York. Racers were treated to near perfect racing conditions, overcast, and temps around 68F. The track layout included a combination of flowing trails, shale rock mixed with perfect soil and high-speed grass field sections.

Trevor Bollinger rocketed off to a great start on his CRF450RX, rounding the first turn in 3rd and holding that position going into the woods. By the end of the first lap, Trevor made a calculated pass into 2nd and continued to ride a very strategic race, pacing the leader. At the halfway point, the top three started to push the pace and managed a sizable gap on the field. The leaders were at a blistering pace only 1 second apart. With 2 laps to go, Trevor clipped a log and lost the rear brake. This forced him to adjust his racing style switching from attack-to-management mode. Despite the brake issue, his bike was running and handling great so he never lost any time and brought it in for a solid second place, less than a bike length behind the leader. This is his second podium, seventh top-5 finish and his best finish for the 2018 season thus far. With the Team's effort and Trevor's fantastic racing, JCR is now 3rd overall in XC1 National Championship Points with 8 of 13 rounds completed.

"Trevor really clicked today. His speed alongside great decision making and masterful race craft placed him on the podium. This round has been good to JCR/Honda in the past, in 2015 Chris Bach scored JCR's first win as a GNCC team. Next race up for the JCR/Honda Team is June 23-24 Round 9 GNCC, Snowshoe, in West Virginia." -- Johnny Campbell
