JCR Camp Coker Bullet GNCC Recap

Apr 23rd, 2018

The course condition was a mix of open dry dusty fields, a sandy motocross track, tight woods and everything was very square edged and extremely rough. The beautiful weather leading into the event made for great spectating, but a very dusty/silty course. Trevor got off to a 9th place start and worked his way into 7th by the end of the first lap. He would run 7th for the remainder of the 2nd lap. 4th to 7th were all in a tight group. At the start of the 3rd lap, Trevor began a strong push and made it past the group and up into 4th, then starting his charge for 3rd. By the start of lap 4, Trevor had closed in on 3rd and made the pass putting about a 10 sec gap on 4th halfway thru lap 4. Trevor had to overcome a huge obstacle when he ran out of fuel and had to push his bike into the pits where he was refueled. This dropped Trevor back to 4th about 1 min back. He put in a very strong charge from laps 5-7 to catch up to within 8 seconds of 3rd. With two laps to go. On lap 7 we did a quick fuel pit. This would push Trevor back to 25 secs behind 3rd. On the final lap, Trevor dug deep to catch 3rd closing the gap to 8 seconds again. A run-in with a lapper and a crash left Trevor to eventually settle for 4th. He had put in a Champions effort as was evident by his collapse and need for medical attention to rehydrate with an IV directly following the race.

Trevor is having a very consistent season sitting 4th Overall in the points championship. Next GNCC Round 6: X Factor-Peru, Indiana May 12-13
