NHHA Rd 4 Ricky Brabec Race Report

May 1st, 2017

**Ricky Brabec's RD 4 NHHA race report, held at Johnson Valley OHV in Lucerne Valley, CA Hosted by So Cal MC – AMA District 37.

"I had a good start. My Honda CRF450X started first push of the button and I was off and heading out to race with the boys, and girls.  First loop was super fast and I made an early pass to get the lead at about mile 5 and really just tried to maintain it. I wasn't sure of the lead gap I had so I was pushing and just playing it smart. The 3rd loop was 20 miles of rugged high speed rocks that was fine for me. Mid way of the third loop I tagged a rock with the brake pedal had gotten bent under the clutch cover forcing it to drag the rest of the way. The brake eventually faded and stopped working completely and about a mile from the finish I hit a quad snake course and it put me over the front so fast. I quickly remounted and it was a rough finish but I'm excited to come across the line with a good lead and the win! Now I'm just sore and trying to Recover" -- Ricky Brabec

"I couldn't be happier with my impeccable Team. The Honda CRF450X in the hands of Ricky Brabec were unstoppable and our race strategy was executed near flawlessly. Ricky was able to extend his points lead going into the halfway point for the series. We are very fortunate he is just a little banged up and not broken from his get off there at the end. Huge thanks to my crew for their performance and a sincere thank you to our supporters." -- Johnny Campbell

Next weekend will be a busy one for the JCR/Honda team, NHHA continues in Delta, Utah for round 5.  GNCC runs in a rain soaked Peru, Indiana for round 6. AMA Big 6 GP goes to Primm, Nevada for round 5. #RaceRed #RideRed
