JCR/Honda Racers take home Wins on opposite sides of the country at NH&H and GNCC!

Jun 30th, 2016

The JCR/Honda team went on a mission this past weekend with NH&H and GNCC racing going on the same day...from the deserts of the South West in New Mexico to the beautiful mountains of the East in West Virginia. Johnny set up the plan to “Divide and CONQUER” and that's exactly what happened!

Round 4 of The National Hare & Hound series also known as the Rattlesnake 100 took place at the Fun Valley OHV area in Espanola, New Mexico. Ricky Brabec with the support of Pit Captain “Gnarly” Dave Manriquez were handling the execution of the “Old West”. Ricky clearly had one main thing in mind, simply WIN. As the race got underway, Ricky settled into 3rd on the first of the 4 lap 100 mile+ race. It wasn’t long before he made quick work of the competition, leading the pack into the pits. Ricky had a battle from there exchanging the lead, but unfortunate for the challenger, as Ricky made his final pass and not only won the event but did it in commanding style, with an 8 minute plus margin by the time the checkers flew. It was obvious, that Ricky and his JCR/Honda-Lucas Oil-Maxxis-Fly racing backed CRF450X was the machine for the “Desert Assassin”. Ricky now holds a commanding lead in the National Hare and Hound series.

On the other side of the nation, set high above in the mountains of West Virginia, Snowshoe Mountain Resort hosted round 9 of the GNCC series. This race is often referred to as the most difficult in the series, claiming its roots going back to the beginning of GNCC racing and the famous “Blackwater 100”. From steep, rocky mountain hill climbs to bike swallowing mud holes, Snowshoe is ready to bite you at every corner. JCR/Honda younggun,Trevor Bollinger had nothing short of an amazing race. He set a blistering pace from the start, Trevor not only completely dominated the XC2 pro class from start to finish, BUT ran down the Top XC1 racers in the world. This impressive pace earned him a 2nd overall aboard his JCR/Honda-Lucas Oil-Maxxis-Fly racing backed CRF250R. This was indeed his highest finish in the overall and it came on the toughest course. Trevor now holds a 29 point advantage in the XC2 pro lites class, going into summer break. GNCC racing will resume September 10th, in Unadilla, NY. 4 rounds remain.

JCR/Honda XC1 racer Chris Bach is still recovering from a recent injury and took the opportunity to spend some time in the RacerTV announcers booth, proving he has yet another talent, BUT don't get any big ideas, we are eager to get him off the mic and back on his race bike. Chris is expected to make a full 100% recovery and return to action for the remaining 4- GNCC’s this Fall.

“Honda Offroad racing has always depended on family and friends to support its grassroots Offroad racing programs. They are and always have been the backbone of our program. From the deserts of the Southwest to the great mountains of the East, I sincerely thank Gnarly Dave, The Bollinger Family, friends and our staff. Job well done! Congratulations to Ricky and Trevor on great wins. The team had an awesome week winning 2 National caliber races and we are getting stronger with every round. I want to also acknowledge the families in West Virginia that recently lost loved one's in last week's devastating flood, our prayers are with you." --Johnny Campbell
