GNCC Round 1 race report. JCR/Honda racers take home 4th in XC1 and 1st in XC2.

Mar 8th, 2016

The Kickoff to the 2016 GNCC National Series was anything but a sleeper. The race site was at the Rodman Plantation just outside of Palatka, Florida. Course conditions in Florida are usually the "oddball" of the series as the 11 mile course winds through miles of pines and palmettos, deep sand whoops and roots cover the track and is anything but smooth and easy. The 3 hour plus race, was a heated battle and intense pace. Bach took his CRF450R quickly to the front of the pack, making fast and calculated decisions. At the hour mark, Bach ran a strong third, before running down the leader after a quick fuel stop, special thanks to the JCR/Honda pit crew and their NEW 3 gallon IMS quick-fill device. Bach, posting the fastest lap of the race at 29:49, was battling for the lead over the next hour of racing. Unfortunately, he was caught off-guard making a pass attempt on the leader, clipped a root and fell. He regrouped and fought to the bitter end finally, posting a hard earned 4th OA. In the XC2 Pro lites division, JCR's Trevor Bollinger, worked his way through the pack on the first of the 6- lap race, sliding through the Pro pits in 3rd. But, it didn't take long for the young speedster and his Eric Siraton prepped CRF250R to overcome the leader and never look back. Trevor demolished the competition, winning by over a 3 minute margin.

" It has been allot of work and sacrifice for the whole Team in the off-season. Everyone has put in their time and it excites me to see the boys running at the top of their perspective classes battling for the overall. Bach ran a solid race at the top and Trevor dominated. A huge thank you to all our sponsors and support! This is a great start to a long year of racing. Tune into GNCC live and watch the JCR/Honda team next weekend in Georgia for the second round of the largest Offroad racing series in the world!" -- Johnny Campbell
