Congratulations to Ricky Brabec, Winning the opening round of the 2016 AMA National Hare & Hound series!

Ricky, fresh off the plane from an impressive run, finishing 9th overall on his rookie year at the 2016 Dakar Rally was barely rested and still made it a point to come out and battle with the best desert racers the US has to offer. The site of the first round of the AMA National Hare and Hound series was in Lucerne Valley, North Anderson staging area. Desert MC motorcycle club hosted the event and treated riders to 2- 40 mile loops of mostly “virgin” rocky trails making up the entire rugged 80 mile race course. The JCR/Honda speedster made quick work of the talented field of riders, overcoming a third place start on his CRF450X and soon found himself leading the way for the majority of the event. It was not without a challenge as a slight error set him back to second at one point on loop 1. Thanks to his JCR/Honda prepped, Pro Circuit suspended Honda, Ricky rocketed back into first in one of the more demanding sections of race course where he would retain the lead into the pits for the first half of the race. He lead out on the second loop and retained a 30 second plus margin on the nearest competition to grab the checkers for his first win of the season.

"I'm very proud of Ricky and our Team’s effort this weekend. It's a great way to start off the 2016 AMA National Hare & Hound season. Ricky hasn't even had time to rest from his trip to Dakar and he is already showing the determination and focus necessary to win races like a champion. Special thanks to our pit crew and the Desert MC club for hosting a great event" -- Johnny Campbell
