The Steele Creek, North Carolina GNCC was an intense race! Conditions were insanely perfect, providing the 1000 plus racers an epic, fast and rough race course. The pace was set by the fastest XC racers in the country, JCR/Honda's Chris Bach was locked in an intense battle with the top five racers, for most of the 3-hour XC event. Unfortunately for the JCR/Honda pilot, a high speed miscue sent him back to the pits, bruised, battered and foggy on lap 5 of the 7 lap event. Chris regrouped and the crew looked over his battle machine. Showing a "never-give-up" attitude he soldiered the last lap to finish the 3hr plus race.

"Steele Creek was one of the most intense races I've seen on the GNCC circuit. The prime conditions allowed the racers to set a blistering pace. Usually an 11 mile course sets lap times around 30 minutes, but today's event the lead group were in the 25 minute per lap range. Chris rode really great up until a frightening crash had us very concerned. He recovered and was able to finish salvaging valuable championship points. The JCR/Honda Team as a whole worked very good today as expected. Despite having everything organized as best as it can be, racing is racing and mistakes happen sometimes at the pace these guys are running. We are just glad Chris walked away from this one and will be ready for the next round in two weeks. Thanks again to our awesome supporters, Honda, Fly, Maxxis, Lucas Oil we couldn't be out here without your gracious support." -- Johnny Campbell
